Black Galaxies captain Daniel Afriyie Barnie eyes CHAN trophy

Skipper of the Black Galaxies of Ghana, Daniel Afriyie Barnie is optimistic about Ghana’s chances at the 2023 CHAN tournament to be held in Algeria.

Afriyie Barnie who recently join the camp after his world cup  trip to Qatar, believes they stand a chance of making a statement for themselves when the tournament begins.

I think we have a future at the CHAN tournament and with the support of my teammates I think I can do better in the CHAN tournament. Sure they should expect the trophy and they expect a good game at least, a good position in the tournament from us.”

It was marvelous yesterday during training they received us well they cheered us and congratulated us,” he added.

The out-of-contract Hearts of Oak forward further thanked his teammates and the entire technical team for the support and motivations in camp.

I will like to say a big thank you to everyone for their support. But as you were here and saw what went on on the field of play I think the teamwork and the determination was so high. That even alone is a motivation for us that we have to do something for our motherland,” he told GFA Communications.

Head coach of the side, Annor Walker also waded into the discussion and affirmed their desire to lift the trophy in Algeria.

I’ve seen an improvement in our squad for the past weeksWe are not there yet but we still on course and we are working hard to be more than what we have to be before  we journey to Algeria.”

“It’s my wish that we get to play some international friendlies before the tournament but since the FA hasn’t secured any yet, we are taking on our top clubs.

I’ve seen some good improvements in these two matches (Accra Hearts of Oak & Legon Cities).

My target is to get to the finals, if its the will of God, i will be grateful“, he added.
