The national anthem of Cameroon was second at the African Judo Open in Luanda (Angola) which ended on Sunday. The first Cameroonian athlete to win gold at this tournament is Marie Baba Matia. She won in the junior category of -52 Kg. A consecration for the 19 year old Lioness.
“I am very happy to have won the gold medal in junior women. I felt good during my fights,” she said. Also bronze medalist in senior women, Marie Baba Matia is especially happy to have won points. Because her objective, she says, “is to qualify for the Olympic Games of Paris 2024”. The Olympic Games 2024 is also the dream of Georgika Wesly Djengue who won gold in the -78 Kg.
