The second leg of the second preliminary round, which began on Friday, continued on Saturday September 30. Six new qualifiers for the group phase of the Caf Cup are now known. After Saturday’s matches, they are Zamalek, Abu Salem, Dreams, CO Coyah and Al-Hilal Bengazhi.
KCCA FC (Uganda) vs Abu Salem (Tripoli)
Abu Salem of Tripoli is the 1st qualifier of the day. The Libyans won the first leg 3-1. They lost the return leg (3-2) in Uganda in a match that looked like a crossroads. Muhammad Shaban opened the scoring for the hosts in the 19th minute. The visitors equalised from the penalty spot (79th). Arafat Usama restored Uganda’s lead (83rd). But 3 minutes later, Abu Salem restored the lead. Arafat then scored his second in the 91st minute to give KCCA a 3-2 win. The win was not enough to qualify.
Zamalek vs AS Arta (Djibouti)
Zamalek qualified for the next round of the CAF Cup.But not without a scare for its fans.In the return leg, they triumphed over Djibouti’s AS Arta (4-1), who had won the first leg 2-0 in what was the feat of the first leg. However, things got off to a bad start when AS Arta of Djibouti opened the scoring against Zamalek through Warsama in the 19th minute. Zamalek came back through Ibrahim Obama (49th). Zamalek took the lead in the 53rd minute with a goal from Shikabala. The Egyptians tripled the lead in the 74th minute through Zizo. They gain confidence as AS Arta loses it. The feared scenario unfolds, with Zamalek scoring a 4th goal synonymous with qualification in the 89th minute.

AFAD Djekanou (Ivory Coast) vs CO Coyah (Guinea Conakry)
Guinea’s Coyah have also reached the group phase of the CAF Cup. They overcame a one-goal deficit from the first leg (1-2). They won (0-2) away from home, scoring 2 goals in quick succession in 1st-half stoppage time. The scoreline remained unchanged.
Kallon (Sierra Leone) vs Dreams (Ghana)
Ghana’s Dreams secured their qualification with a 1-1 draw in the return leg against Sierra Leone’s Kallon.As a reminder, they had won the first leg (2-1).Mensah Agyenim converted a penalty in the 3rd minute for Dreams.Kallon equalized in the 97th minute.
Rayon Sport (Rwanda) vs Al Hilal Benghazi
Al-Hilal Bengazhi qualified on penalties against Rayon Sport of Rwanda. The score at the end of the match and extra time was 1-1, with Al-Hilal Benghazi scoring in the 1st minute through E. Al-Muraimi. The Rwandans replied in the 38th minute with H. Luvumbu. It was off to extra time, but the score remained the same! Penalties followed, and Al-Hilal came out on top (2-4).
