The final round of preliminary matches for the CAF Champions League takes place this Saturday, September 30. In the first leg, Mamelodi Sundowns, CR Belouizdad and TP Mazembe are expected to finish the job at home.
Mamelodi Sundowns – Bumamuru
After a fine 4-0 victory in the first leg, Mamelodi Sundowns have done the hard work before tuning up the Burundian club. The first leg’s CAF LDC demonstration shows the gap between the two sides.
CR Belouizdad – Bo Rangers
Sven Vandenbroeck is now in charge of CR Belouizdad. The Belgian coach, who reached the final of the CAF LDC last season with Wydad, will be tasked with leading the Algerians to the African title. They got off to a flying start with a 3-1 away win over BO Rangers, before hosting the final match on Saturday September 30.
WAC – Hafia FC
Last year’s finalists, Wydad AC are one of the big favourites for the CAF CL. In this preliminary round, the Moroccans were held to a 1-1 draw away from home last weekend by a Guinean team from Hafia FC, who have given themselves the means to exist in order to play out their chances in Morocco this Saturday, September 30.
TP Mazembe – Nyasa Big Bullets
Will TP Mazembe make a comeback in the CL? They’re off to a good start. After missing out on the big competition in the last two editions, the Congolese giants took a serious step towards qualification with a 1-0 win over Big Bullets in Malawi. In front of their home fans, the Corbeaux will be keen to return to the top level.
