Luka Kameni, 18, was part of his club – Marbella FC’s win last weekend.
It was a baptism into the beautiful game for youngster. Over the weekend, Marbella FC plying in the Spanish fourth division slotted in Luka Kameni for his debut.
Unlike his father who played as a goalkeeper, he chosed to be a midfeilder, dictating the pace of the game from the middle of the park.
Fielded as starter from the onset, he helped his club win all three points of the day against Deportivo Huetor.
Luka Kameni thus joined a list of sons of the former Indomitable Lions who decided to follow in the footsteps of their fathers such as Enzo Tchato, Etienne Eto’o, Anthony Elanga, Stéphane Bahoken, and Nolan Song amongst others.
The midfielder before heading to Marbella FC was in the ranks of teams like: Malaga FC and Espanyol de Barcelona where his father also played.
Luka’s father, Idriss Carlos Kameni has had a long lasting career spanning 22 years and over 600 career games for 7 professional clubs and country.
Aged 38, the globe trotter is still going at Andora based club – UE Santa Coloma. If Luka Kameni gets close to his father’s numbers, then, they could be one of those stories of father and son in football another time.
